World’s Tallest Lego Tower
Standing tall at a whopping 29.3 meters (96.12 feet), it was made of 465,000 bricks, the World’s Tallest LEGO tower was finally completed this past Wednesday morning (n.b. July 16th) at the C.N.E. fairgrounds in Toronto. Originally the plan was to have the tower completed earlier on Monday, but high winds and dark weather kept tossing about the 100-foot boom crane used in adding new LEGO sections. It took three attempts to finally get the last section in place and when they did, representatives from the Guinness Book of World Records were on hand to officially measure the tower and confirm the achievement into the record books. Completed under the supervision of professional LEGO builders Per Knudsen & Erik Therkelsen, who were flown in from Billund, Denmark, the construction itself was done with the help of kids and families who were visiting the C.N.E. fairgrounds.

Lego In Racism Poster Row
The poster shows what looks like one of the company's famous building blocks.
It reads "Racism takes many shapes" and shows a picture of a jigsaw puzzle next to a red brick. It was launched by the UN to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
"We feel that the message of this poster can be interpreted as if we are a racist company," Lego spokeswoman Charlotte Simonsen said.
"I don't know if that's what's intended, but it's definitely one way of interpreting it."
However, the UN said no affiliation to Lego was intended and apologised for the misunderstanding.
"The poster is in no way a comment on the specific situation in Denmark or on Lego," a spokesperson said.
"It is unfortunate that the poster has been interpreted as such."
